L’ultimo weekend di febbraio è giunto al termine e con esso anche l’International Concours of Elegance St.Moritz. Dopo la pausa forzata dello scorso anno, quando l’organizzazione si è vista costretta ad annullare le danze sul lago a causa delle forti nevicate, l’evento dell’Engadina è tornato più in forma che mai. Boom di pubblico, tra appassionati veri e presunti tali, forse più interessati ai propri follower su Instagram che non ai motori.
15 mila presenze. Stando a quanto affermato dagli addetti ai lavori, nella due giorni sono state registrate più di 15 mila presenze. Tantissime, tanto da ingolfare la cittadina svizzera e occuparne ogni posto letto, ma soprattutto ogni parcheggio disponibile. Venerdì, giornata meteorologicamente perfetta, sole alto e temperature invidiabili; più freschetto il sabato, che non ha ostacolato il gran pienone nell’affacciarsi sul ring ghiacciato per la sessione dinamica del Concorso. La qualità delle vetture partecipanti, rispetto agli anni passati, ha fatto un ulteriore passo avanti; tanto valore aggiunto e un plauso per la selezione esposta; il divario con l’eccellenza – ovvero con il Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este – s’accorcia.

Auto spettacolari. The I.C.E., ovvero l’evento di auto più atteso e popolato della stagione invernale, da quest’anno si è esteso anche sulla stessa Sankt Moritz: oltre al lago, infatti, è arrivato fino in centro con una dozzina di spot ben curati. Fra questi, il Salotto di Pagani (unitamente allo stand nel villaggio sul lago animata anche da Horacio Pagani in pista con una Utopia Roadster), Casa Ferrari e la lounge di Lamborghini. Maserati, poi, ha scelto la manifestazione per presentare la GranCabrio con motore da 490 CV e la GranCabrio Trofeo One of One – The I.C.E. sviluppata dal reparto Fuoriserie.
Le vincitrici. Oltre 50 le vetture che hanno presenziato ufficialmente e che sono passate al vaglio della giuria (eterogenea e con parecchi nomi di spicco) per i premi di categoria annunciati venerdì pomeriggio e i tre award di chiusura del sabato:

Il trofeo Best in Show, ideato da Norman Foster, è andato alla Bugatti Tipo 59 (1934); il premio Spirit of St. Moritz, firmato dall’artista Rolf Sachs, è stato vinto da una Ferrari 250 GT SWB “SEFAC” (1961). Il pubblico, che ha espresso la propria preferenza nella giornata di sabato, ha invece trovato in una Lamborghini Miura SV certificata dal Polo Storico di Sant’Agata Bolognese la propria Hero Below Zero.
